New Music By Logan Mize, the Eli Young Band, and Bobby Wills this Week on 95 Country!

We’re adding three new songs to the 95 Country playlist this week; two by up-and-coming artists, and one by a band everyone knows.

First, is “Can’t Get Away From A Good Time” by Logan Mize. You’ll probably recognize Logan from his TV appearances before his voice. In 2013, Logan and his band performed on the CW drama Heart of Dixie starring Rachel Bilson, and Logan also appeared alongside Hayden Panettiere of Nashville in a national tv “Fabric Of You Life” commercial for cotton.

Logan was born in Wichita, and grew up in nearby Clearwater, Kansas listening to cassettes filled with songs from Alan Jackson, Elton John, Nirvana, the Wallflowers and Garth Brooks. His first album was entirely self-produced, and self-titled, and even released under his own record label back in 2009. His second album, Nobody In Nashville won praise from critics, and shout-outs on Twitter from both LeAnn Rimes and Little Big Town.

We don’t have a title for Logan’s next album, but his first single from it, “Can’t Get Away From A Good Time” is a heck of a lot of fun, and has already been downloaded more than 100,000 times.

In reaction to country music fans ravenous appetite for new music from their favorite stars, EP albums are making a comeback. Technically, EPs are albums that are less than 25 minutes long, and contain more than one track. EPs are much less expensive for record labels to produce, and are a convenient way for bands to release new music, since the whole thing can usually get recorded and mastered in the same day.

All four members of the Eli Young Band wrote songs for their new Turn It On EP (released March 10th), and the first single from it is the title track. The Eli Young Band is currently on a nationwide tour, and will be performing at the Academy of Country Music’s “Party For A Cause” before the ACM Awards show in April.

The US has such a huge country music scene, it’s easy to forget that our neighbors in Canada have one of their own, with very talented artists most Americans have never heard of. Two-time CCMA “Male Artist Of The Year” nominee Bobby Wills is an artist that more people should know about.

Bobby was genetically destined to be a singer, but he never would have known that without a chance encounter with his birth parents where Bobby and his birth-father sat up all night listening to records together the first time they ever met. Bobby was amazed at how he and his birth-father both liked the same songs, and from there began to pursue a singing and songwriting career.

His first album was called Man with No Past and he released it all on his own as an independent artist. His current album Crazy Enough came out last summer. Bobby is also an ambassador for the Adoption Council of Canada. | © 2014 | All Rights Reserved
