A quarter of a million dollars worth of medical-grade marijuana seized in Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. — Two people have been arrested as Adams County sheriff’s deputies seize 22 pounds of medical-grade marijuana and nearly two dozen guns. 

Investigators believe that medical-grade marijuana has been brought from a California grower. According to investigators shipments arrive every three or four months.

A search warrant turned up 21 pounds of marijuana. Wilmer Howell Rogers was arrested at the home on Stirling Rd., another half-pound of medical-grade marijuana was found at a nearby business. Rogers agreed to allow agents to search four other locations, which resulted in the seizure of a hard drive, a truck, another half-pound of marijuana, a gun and cash, authorities said.

A total of 22 pounds of marijuana, 31 weapons, two vehicles and $7,382.

Rogers is charged with trafficking a schedule 1 controlled substance while in possession of a firearm.

David Anderson has also been arrested in the case. He is charged with possession of a schedule 1 drug within a church zone.

Investigators say the street value of the marijuana is $256,000.

No bond has been set for Rogers, Anderson's bond was set at $1500.
