Natchez Inc. to Host Job Fair on August 29th

Natchez, Inc. will host a job fair Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Natchez Convention Center.  Industries that will be participating include Great River Industries, Jones Companies, Delta Energy and vonDrehle Corporation just to name a few. With Delta Energy’s rapid development at the former International Paper facility, the company is actively growing its workforce at the rubber recycling and processing facility. As vonDrehle continues to provide recycled paper products to its customers across the country, this company also seeks skilled employees to properly carry out their manufacturing process. NATCHEZ, Miss. — Since 2010, Natchez, Inc. has worked diligently to bring the Natchez and Vidalia region quality jobs for its citizens. Over 600 new jobs have been created and $947 Million have been invested by ten new industries in our area. In recent months, several of these industries have expanded their operations, thus creating a need for additional employees in the area.

Great River Industries Expands

Great River Industries first located to Natchez as Enersteel in 2011. Since their beginning, Great River Industries has grown to over 350 and still continues to grow. Their company offers metal fabrication, construction and maintenance to facilities around the country.

“This expansion of our shop, yard and improved access road will allow us to add jobs and continue to provide value to our customers. We are proud to continue to grow and expand here in Natchez and Adams County,” said Kenny Lawson, President of Great River Industries. 

In the coming months, Great River Industries will invest another $1.5 Million into their Natchez facility creating an additional 20 new jobs. “We are proud of these past efforts and extremely pleased that these companies continue to make investments in our area and choose to grow our own labor force” Chandler Russ, Executive Director Natchez, Inc.

Jones Companies Expands

Jones Companies recently acquired the Rives & Reynolds Lumber facility in 2018. Since then Jones Companies has expanded its capabilities at their Natchez Facility to include crane mat construction, as well as additions to their lumber drying operations.

“Jones Lumber Company is looking forward to our growth in Natchez and our investment in and expansion of our facility indicates our commitment to the area. We continue to provide our customers with the quality products they need and hire valuable team members. Our expansion is important to us and the area,” said Chad Ervin, CFO Jones Companies. 

With this expansion, Jones will invest an additional $15 million in the Natchez facility while adding 40 more jobs. “We continue to welcome Jones Companies to our area and their growth and future plans for the facility is phenomenal. I cannot stress enough the importance of Existing Business & Industry growth. In summary of the importance, just between these two industries investing their capitol, these new jobs will bring an economic impact as follows: 60 new jobs with a direct annual payroll of $3.0 Million and an additional 85 indirect jobs with a payroll of $2,720,000” Chandler Russ, Executive Director, Natchez, Inc.
