NATCHEZ, Miss. – The Adams County Board of Supervisors met Monday and approved the final agreement with the Natchez Board of Aldermen to consolidate the local E9ll emergency calling system. The long-planned combining of city and county dispatchers under one roof should quicken the response time for area law-enforcement, fire and ambulance agencies when called, said county Emergency Management Director Brad Bradford.

Bradford said to expect the newly consolidated service to be up and running in April. Currently, 10 dispatchers work at the Natchez Police Department and five at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. The combined E911 workforce will be housed in the basement of the county jail. The Board of Aldermen approved the joint agreement last month. | © 2014 | All Rights Reserved
