Former Vidalia City Accountant Ashley Anderson was booked Monday on one count of felony theft.

39-year-old Anderson, of Myrtle Avenue, Natchez, is accused of writing two checks totaling $3,333.33 each to Jim Anderson, her husband, who for a period of time was the contract caterer for the Vidalia Conference & Convention Center.

She resigned her position with the city in March 2016 after the alleged unauthorized payments were made.

A bill of information was filed against Anderson in Seventh Judicial District Court on May 4. Judge John Reeves signed a warrant for her arrest on May 8.
