Fatal boating accident on Lake St. John

LAKE ST. JOHN, La - Two men were killed in a boating accident on Lake St. John early Saturday morning. The bodies of Bruce Pickle, age 50 of Lake St. John, and Larry Allen, age 52 of Pearl, MS, have been recovered.

The accident that took place just after midnight, involved a single bass boat collision with a pier. will continue to follow this tragic story and provide updates as they become available.

6/17 - 11:44am Update:  The body of Larry Allen has been found under the pier and recovered.

6/17 - 11:00am Update:  The search for a possible second victim of the fatal boating accident on Lake St. John resumed Sunday morning. Larry Allen, a suspected passenger in the ill-fated bass boat, is believed to be somewhere within the pier wreckage. 


6/16 - 10:50pm Update:  Deceased identified as longtime area teacher and coach, Bruce Pickle. Search will resume tomorrow for a possible second victim, Larry Allen. 

6/16 - 7:30pm Update:  We are hearing the search for a possible second person is being called for the night and will resume tomorrow.

6/16 - 5:30pm Update:  A second person is believed to have been involved in Lake St. John boating accident. We're hearing equipment will be used to maneuver the collapsed pier for the search.

6/16 - Noon Update:  Fatal boating accident on Lake St. John around midnight last night. Out of respect we are not mentioning any names, as details are still fuzzy. Investigation currently underway.
