NATCHEZ, Miss. — The Board of Aldermen on Tuesday accepted City Clerk Charles Crump’s recommendation to keep city funds in Home Bank, which provides higher interest rates on funds deposited in its accounts and more accessible accounting of cash than does Concordia.

Home Bank, based in Lafayette, La., has branches in Natchez as does Concordia, which is based in Vidalia. La.

The city is budgeted to have a total of about $35 million for the fiscal year that began last October.
