Clayton in state of emergency following water well failure

CONCORDIA PARISH, La. (CPPJ) — The following statement was issued today by the Concordia Parish Police Jury:


Whereas, The Parish of Concordia is presently faced with an emergency due to the following:


Since November 6, 2017 and continuing until the present time; and

Whereas, immediate emergency actions are required to minimize the effects of the emergency; and

Whereas, the area involved is in need of emergency actions and support to respond to the emergency;

Now Therefore, I, Jimmy Wilkinson, President of the Concordia Parish Police Jury, by authority vested in me and by the Ordinance of the Concordia Parish, The Louisiana Disaster Act of 1993, and any other acts which may prevail, do hereby proclaim a State of Emergency to exist in the Parish of Concordia and that all emergency operation plans be activated and that the Parish's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director, Guy Murray, 318-481-1622, be designated as the point of contact for all emergency operations.

This proclaimation is issued on this 7th day of November, 2017 and effective at the time of issuance.
