WESSON, Miss. — The president of a Mississippi community college says he intends to retire in June.

Ronnie Nettles has led Copiah-Lincoln Community College for a decade. The Daily Leader reports that he announced his retirement plan Thursday to trustees of the two-year school.

Enrollment at Co-Lin hit its record high of 3,799 in the fall semester of 2010.

During Nettles' time as president, the college's foundation endowment has doubled to over $8 million. Co-Lin has started new instructional programs and increased its graduation rates. New buildings have been constructed and renovations have been done on all three campuses in Wesson, Natchez and Mendenhall. | © 2014 | All Rights Reserved
