NATCHEZ, Miss. – Adams County supervisors declared an emergency Tuesday as the region braced for what’s wrought by the tropical storm blasting through Mississippi. This declaration enables county officials to take quick action in response to Tropical Storm Gordon and be eligible for any state and federal disaster-relief funds that could be forthcoming.

Adams County Emergency Management Director Brad Bradford said Tuesday morning the area could get 20-to-30 mph winds and two-to-three inches of rain from Gordon, which reached the Mississippi Gulf Coast last night.

Weather reports Tuesday evening projected the storm center’s inland track being mostly in Mississippi’s central corridor going west and just brushing Adams County.
