(LRN) — The Saints are getting to play one of the hotter teams in the NFC, join our live coverage of the game this Sunday on the Miss-Lou’s official Saints station 95 Country. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won four in a row and moved into a first place tie with Atlanta in the NFC South. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees says Tampa Bay is doing a lot of things well on defense. Brees was one of several current and former Saints players who were on hand for the opening day of testimony in the Will Smith murder trial. He says him and wife Brittany wanted to be there for Smith’s widow, Racquel.

Tonight in Thursday Night Football the Raiders play the Chiefs, kickoff is at 7:25.

(LRN) — Postseason awards were handed out by Conference USA yesterday and Louisiana Tech quarterback Ryan Higgins was named Most Valuable Player, Carlos Henderson was awarded the offensive and special teams player of the year awards and Skip Holtz was named Coach of the Year.

(LRN) — Cajuns wide receiver Al Riles was named an All-Sun Belt first team offensive performer this season. On defense, Cajuns linebacker Otha Peters was a first-team selection.

(LRN) — LSU released the details today of LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda’s three-year contract extension. He’ll be one of the highest paid assistant coaches in all of college football, making one-point-eight million dollars in the first year of the deal.

(SEC Country) — A 4-star quarterback from New Orleans says he’ll be starting in January at Mississippi State and not at LSU. QB Keytaon Thompson, the No. 9 quarterback in the country, affirms his Mississippi State commitment. Thompson talked to Rod Walker of the New Orleans Advocate to shut down any kind of worry that he may be considering changing his mind. Thompson has held an offer from LSU since June 9, 2015. He committed to the Bulldogs on Dec. 16, 2015 and Mississippi State has been the only school he’s officially visited.
