The Miss Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation announces nominees, award winners

The 2018 Miss Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame banquet will be held February 22 at the Hotel Vue in Natchez.

Zach Nelson of Vidalia, Jerrius Scott of Ferriday High and Daevern Mays of Delta Charter will represent their schools at the banquet. Also being honored are Dee Fleming of Trinity, Henry Carpenter of Cathedral, Caden Gillespie of Adams Christian and Ernest Woods of Natchez High.

Junior high players being recognized are Ryan Ashley of Vidalia Junior High, DeCarl Robinson of Ferriday Junior High and Jared Barron of Delta Charter.

Clyde Ray Webber of Ferriday will receive the Distinguished American Award, while Willie Woods of Natchez will accept the Contribution to Amateur Football Award.

The guest speaker is former Copiah-Lincoln and Ole Miss football standout Tim Brown, who is now pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg.

The seven high school seniors representing local area high schools, Adams County Christian School, Cathedral, Delta Charter School, Ferriday High, Natchez High, Trinity and Vidalia High will receive a total of $11,000 in scholarship awards for their accomplishments on the playing field, and in their community, school and church.
