Applications Being Accepted for the ACSO Citizen’s Academy
from Staff Reports - NEWS
February 18, 2019 -

Natchez, Miss. — Applications are now being accepted for the 2nd Adams County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy. This exciting, 10-week program begins March 14, 2019 and ends May 18, 2019 with a graduation ceremony and celebration. The Academy classes are held every Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at various locations throughout Adams County. The Citizen’s Academy is free and only has 20 spots available. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and able to attend all of the sessions in order to participate. We anticipate that the class will fill up quickly, so a prompt response is recommended.

The Citizen’s Academy is a great way for community members to get an exclusive, inside look at what law enforcement does on a daily basis to protect its citizens. The classes will include a voluntary patrol ride-along, use of force, search and seizure law, crisis intervention and firearms. There will also be a tour of the jail, a presentation by Sheriff Patten, Chief Rabb, Chief Brown and the NARC/HEAT Unit, just to name a few.

If you would like to participate in the Citizen’s Academy, please download the application from our website or you may stop by our office at 306 State Street to pick up one up in person. Deadline for submitting your application is March 8, 2019. For more information, call Jacquelyn Posey at 601-492-9840 or email | © 2014 | All Rights Reserved
