This is the third case that has been reported for Concordia Parish. The patient is a 21 year old resident of Concordia Parish, but was not tested in Concordia Parish and is not hospitalized. Reports to the Concordia Office of Homeland Security is that the patient is doing well.
The Concordia Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness has been involved in several conference calls on Monday March 31, 2020 with Louisiana State Officials, Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals, Region 6 GOHSEP Directors, and the Tier I and Tier II medical facilities in Region 6 which includes Vernon, Sabine, Natchitoches, Winn, Grant, Rapides, LaSalle, Catahoula, Concordia and Avoyelles Parishes. From data and numbers that was received today it appears that the curve of spread of the COVID-19 virus in Louisiana is beginning to flatten. Data and statistics has shown that a large and very important part of the flattening of this curve is due to the “Stay at Home” order the “Public Health Declaration” signed and put forth by Governor John Bel Edwards, and the “Social Distancing” advisory. The Concordia Office of Homeland Security is pleading for the safety and welfare of the citizens of Concordia Parish to follow and abide by the orders and advisories. The Concordia Office of Homeland Security is also asking business owners and store managers once again to please limit the amount of patrons in your store for not just the safety of your employees, but also for the safety of other patrons and the safety of our communities in Concordia Parish. Many of our local business’s such as Wal-Mart and The Markets offer pick up service that is not only convenient but keeps a patron from having to leave their vehicle. The Concordia Office of Homeland Security encourages residents to use these type of services.
The Concordia Office of Homeland Security also encourages anyone that has been sent home to quarantine to think about the wellness and safety of the community and follow that quarantine order by your employer or your healthcare provider by staying at home and quarantining.”
