Part-Time Positions at Natchez National Historical Park
Natchez National Historical Park will be hiring two part-time Visitor Service Assistants (VSAs) this summer. VSAs serve as front-line information specialists who welcome visitors to Natchez and assist them in making their plans for an interesting, rewarding experience in the area. All interested parties must apply for the positions through the Federal government employment website, USAJOBS. Applications must be submitted before August 12, 2022 with an estimated entry on duty in September, 2022.
The primary responsibility of the positions is to provide orientation and information to assist visitors in making choices during their visit to the Natchez area. As a uniformed member of the National Park Service, the staff member serves as a front-line representative of the park and the agency, typically performing duties at the Natchez Visitor Center or other visitor contact stations throughout the park (Melrose or the William Johnson House). Responsibilities include providing current and accurate information concerning the park and the surrounding areas of interest and answering a wide variety of visitor questions related to the historical, cultural, or natural resources. The VSA explains visitor activities and recreational opportunities, NPS interpretive services; distributes maps, brochures, and other printed materials; informs visitors of potential safety hazards; and provides directions and routes through the park.
