Walmart #874 Report Walmart #874 – Second Report
According to information provided by the Consumer Protection Division of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, a consumer complaint was received on August 8, 2023, from a customer who reported sighting two dead rats on the store floor. In response, an inspector was dispatched to address the complaint and found a loaf of adulterated bread on the shelf. Additionally, the warehouse where the bread was stored had a distinct rodent smell. The store was already taking corrective action before the MDAC inspector arrived by placing traps, glue boards, and having daily visits from pest control. As a result of the inspection findings, the store was issued a Yellow Critical Notice.
The inspector is scheduled to return in 10 days to allow adequate time for remediation before conducting a follow-up inspection. It’s worth noting that the original critical notice posted at the store front was defaced, prompting the inspector to return three days later to place another notice higher up to prevent further defacing issues.
