The Mississippi Senate last week confirmed the appointment of Natchez dentist John Carlton to the state Board of Dental Examiners.
The eight-member panel licenses and regulates dentists and dental hygienists to ensure they’re competent and ethical.
Carlton was appointed to the Mississippi Board of Dental Examiners a year ago by Gov. Tate Reeves for a term ending in 2028. Requiring legislative approval, state senators confirmed the nomination May 1 in the final week of their annual session.
Born and raised in Natchez, Carlton graduated from Mississippi State University in 2004 and went on to earn his doctorate degree from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. Carlton opened his Natchez practice in May 2011. He moved to his current office on Highland Boulevard in December 2015.
Very proud of this young man. He will be a great addition to the MS Board.
