NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten reported a downed tree on Kingston Road just past St. Mark’s Church Thursday night at approximately midnight. The tree took down power lines and broke a power pole. Residents were without power in the early hours of the morning.
The exact number of residences without power was not available from Southwest Mississippi Electric Association. The server that runs its outage map was temporarily unavailable, said a notice on its website.
Entergy Mississippi reported six outages in Natchez beginning at about 10:48 p.m. Thursday, affecting approximately 168 residents. Entergy estimated most power in Natchez to be restored before 4 a.m.
The National Weather Service in Jackson forecasts showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday, mainly before 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 81. The chance of precipitation on Friday is 60%. New rainfall amounts are predicted to be between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
