Starting June 1st, 2024, residents of the City of Natchez will benefit from a new curbside bulk materials pickup service. This initiative allows for the collection of up to eight cubic yards of bulk materials twice per month.
Service Details:
- Collection Schedule: Residents must place their bulk materials curbside by 7 a.m. on their designated Monday. While Arrow Disposal Service does not collect on Mondays, having materials out by this time ensures collection anytime Monday through Friday during the designated collection week
- Specific Pickup Weeks:
- If your regular trash pickup days are Monday and Thursday, your bulk pickup week will begin on June 2nd.
- If your regular trash pickup days are Tuesday and Friday, your bulk pickup week will begin on June 9th.
- These schedules will alternate bi-weekly for the rest of 2024.
Materials Collected:
- Bulk Landscaping Materials: Includes large limbs and tree trimmings that are too heavy for manual collection. Limbs must be cut to 6 feet or less in length and no more than 8 inches in diameter. Regular bi-weekly trash collection will still handle small piles of bagged or bundled yard waste up to 2 cubic yards.
- Appliances: Household appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, and furniture. These items must be drained of freon and properly tagged.
- Construction Debris: Waste from DIY renovation projects, limited to four contractor-grade bags per collection.
Guidelines:
- This service is only for bulk waste generated from routine landscaping or DIY projects. Contractors or tree services hired by residents must haul away their waste.
- Bulk materials can be placed at the curb up to one week prior to the scheduled service.
- Collections are strictly during the scheduled service week; the Bulk Crew will not return to the same zone until two weeks later.
- Bulk waste must be neatly piled at least two feet away from obstacles such as utility poles, low-hanging trees, fences, gas/water meters, fire hydrants, mailboxes, and sprinkler heads. Do not block sidewalks or obstruct traffic views.
- Small bundles of yard waste and bagged leaves will continue to be collected weekly during regular trash pickup.
Residents needing bulk collection beyond the four bags of construction debris or eight cubic yard limit can contact Arrow Disposal Service for a special services quote at 1-866-440-3983.
