NATCHEZ, MISS. – Governor Tate Reeves, alongside the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), has proudly announced a significant milestone for Adams County with the approval of a $3.292 million grant award for the clean-up and development of the former International Paper site. This grant, secured through the Select Site Grant Program, underscores the state’s commitment to fostering economic growth and site development in the region.
The grant, specifically designated as a Select Site – Site Development Grant for the Mississippi River Industrial Complex, signifies a strategic investment in creating project-ready sites to attract private sector investment and drive job creation in Adams County.
Governor Tate Reeves emphasized, “Mississippi’s proactive approach to site development has played a key role in attracting unprecedented private sector investment. By prioritizing infrastructure investments and expanding project-ready sites, we are further positioning Mississippi as a preferred destination for companies seeking to establish their presence. In response to Governor Reeves’ announcement, Chandler Russ, Executive Director of Natchez, Inc., expressed gratitude for the state’s support and leadership, highlighting the grant’s pivotal role in advancing industrial park development and workforce initiatives in Adams County. Russ remarked, “This funding bolsters our commitment to driving economic growth and creating high-paying jobs for the residents of Adams County.
