NATCHEZ — At least five people were injured by multiple gunshots in the area of Finger Lane, located off of Lower Woodville Road in Adams County.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said three people had been taken by ambulance and two more by private vehicles to Merit Health Natchez. More people possibly hurt on the scene refused medical treatment, he said. At least two shooters are thought to be involved in the incident and are still at large, he said.
“At approximately 9:48 p.m. officers responded to a shooting on Finger Lane in the Cloverdale area,” he said. “Upon my arrival, I made contact with Adams County Sheriff’s Office investigators who stated multiple people were shot. … Right now we’re gathering as much evidence from the scene as possible and it is an active ongoing investigation. We will update you all on the progress. We’re working to bring this to a closing as quickly as possible and have reached out to other agencies to assist us with that.”
