UMB, based in Natchez and Concordia Parish, Louisiana, has announced the successful transition of three branches previously owned by BankPlus. The branches, located in New Roads, Louisiana; Eunice, Louisiana; and Port Gibson, Mississippi, officially reopened under the UMB banner on Monday, January 27, 2025.
This acquisition includes the physical branch locations, deposit relationships, and CD loan relationships, expanding UMB’s footprint in South Louisiana and Southwest Mississippi. The transition is part of UMB’s strategic growth plan to broaden its reach while maintaining its hallmark personalized and community-focused approach.
The newly transitioned branches will continue their current operating schedules, staffed by the same friendly employees customers have come to know. This move increases the total number of UMB branches to 12, providing greater access to banking services for customers across the region of South Louisiana and Southwest Mississippi.
Adrian Sandel, CEO of UMB, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We are excited the day finally came to serve customers in New Roads, Eunice, and Port Gibson. This purchase aligns with our strategic vision of growth and reinforces our dedication to providing exceptional banking experiences to the communities we serve. We welcome the customers and employees of BankPlus to the UMB family and look forward to a bright future together.”
Sandel also extended gratitude to BankPlus, adding, “We appreciate BankPlus for trusting us with their customers in these areas, and we are committed to continuing to deliver the high-quality personalized banking experience that our customers have come to expect.”
