A Concordia Parish Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a Ferriday man in connection with a child sexual assault investigation, authorities announced.
On April 24, 2025, Terric Cyantre Thomas, 29, of Ferriday, was indicted by the 7th Judicial District Grand Jury on several charges, including three counts of first-degree rape involving a victim under the age of 13. Thomas was also indicted on one count of aggravated flight from an officer and one count of simple criminal damage to property.
The case stems from a report received by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office on November 18, 2024, regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. Upon receiving the report, detectives with the Special Victims Unit, along with the Children’s Advocacy Center and the Cyber Crimes Unit, immediately opened an investigation. Authorities established probable cause to obtain arrest warrants for Thomas.
During the course of the investigation, officials also discovered that Thomas had an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear in court on a separate child pornography charge. Investigators later determined that Thomas had fled to Texas, prompting a coordinated effort among multiple law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend him.
On December 1, 2024, Thomas was taken into custody by the Dallas Police Department with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service. He was subsequently extradited to Louisiana and booked into the Concordia Parish Detention Center on the charges stemming from both the new allegations and the outstanding warrant.
The investigation remains active, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information related to this case to contact the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit at (318) 473-0456 ext. 409.
Sheriff David Hedrick expressed his gratitude to the Dallas Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service for their assistance in apprehending the suspect.
Charges Thomas faces include:
-
Three counts of First-Degree Rape (Victim Under 13 Years of Age)
-
One count of Aggravated Flight From an Officer
-
One count of Simple Criminal Damage to Property
-
Bench warrant for Failure to Appear on Child Pornography charge
As with all criminal proceedings, it is important to note that Thomas is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
