Today, communities across the nation are recognizing Save a Life Day, an initiative focused on preventing opioid overdose deaths through the distribution of free naloxone.
Adams County Emergency Management is helping lead this effort locally. Naloxone, also known by the brand name Narcan, is a safe, effective medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose when administered in time.
Residents are invited to pick up a free naloxone pack today at the Adams County Safe Room, 323 Liberty Road, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. This opportunity is open to the public, with the goal of equipping community members with a tool that could potentially save a life.
If you or someone you know may be at risk, or if you simply want to be prepared to help others, stop by today. Together, we can take steps to fight the opioid crisis and protect our community.
