Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has been named the 2025 SEC Newcomer of the Year, as voted on by the league’s 16 head coaches, the SEC office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Chambliss becomes just the second player in SEC history to earn the honor, joining Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia, who won the award in 2024 during its inaugural year.
A Division II transfer from Ferris State, Chambliss made an immediate impact in his first season in Oxford. He helped lead the Rebels to the best regular season in program history and guided Ole Miss to its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance, marking a historic year for the program.
Chambliss’s rapid rise from Division II to the top of the SEC highlights both his talent and his pivotal role in one of the most successful seasons Ole Miss football has ever seen.
