The increase followed a significant spike in sales during 2025, despite Congress discontinuing the federal tax credits that had been expected to remain in place through 2032. Executive Director Anne Vail says demand for electric vehicles remains strong even without the incentive. Jefferson Parish leads the state with more than 3,500 registered EVs.
Mississippi Public Service Commissioner Keith Stamps has introduced a resolution urging local water systems to review their use of synthetic sodium fluoride additives in drinking water and consider discontinuing them if appropriate. Stamps says the resolution supports cooperation among public agencies, water system operators, and health officials to ensure any changes are implemented responsibly and clearly communicated to residents.
Louisiana has a new Inspector General, and the responsibilities of the office are set to change. Former Commissioner of Administration Angel Davis has been appointed to replace Stephen Street. Street’s role focused on investigating fraud, misconduct, and mismanagement within state government. Governor Jeff Landry says Davis will instead focus on improving government efficiency by following up on recommendations from Legislative Auditor Mike Waguespack. The state legislature must approve the revised duties when it meets in the spring.
