Officials are discussing potential changes to the building’s facade, including the removal of the glass front that has been affected by leaks and heating issues. No decisions have been made.
New data from the Louisiana Department of Insurance shows that private auto insurance rates declined in 2025, while commercial auto insurance rates increased. According to Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple, private passenger auto premiums fell by nearly 6 percent due to fewer accidents. Commercial auto rates rose by nearly 6 percent, which Temple attributes to higher insurance limits involved in commercial claims. Temple says additional work is needed in the upcoming legislative session to improve auto insurance affordability.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks is accepting applications for its next law enforcement cadet class. Conservation officers enforce state game and fish laws, provide hunter and boater education programs, and work with outdoor users across the state. The agency is seeking qualified applicants for positions throughout Mississippi. The application deadline is March 17.
The United Cajun Navy has joined the search for Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, who was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home during the early morning hours of February 1. United Cajun Navy personnel are on the ground in Tucson to assist with additional resources, including coordination with search dog teams. Anyone with information is encouraged to submit tips through the United Cajun Navy’s Saw it Report platform.
