The Natchez Mayor and Board of Aldermen accept two appraisals on the former General Hospital property. One estimate came back at $100,000 while the other clocked in at $110,000. The 4-2 vote merely accepted the appraisals, and didn’t commit to looking to sell the property. A motion from July requires any offer on the property to be at least the average of the two appraisals in order to be considered, so in this case a prospective buyer would have to offer at least $105,000. James and Ginger Hyland own the adjacent property and have expressed interest in the former hospital.
