Mayor Dan Gibson presented a certificate of recognition on Wednesday afternoon to Ms. Angelica King, commending her exceptional academic achievements and remarkable journey.
A graduate of Natchez High School and a lifelong Natchez resident, Angelica King is set to make local history as the first Natchez High graduate to attend Harvard University on a full scholarship. Her academic record is nothing short of extraordinary, including an impressive 33 on the SAT, a score that places her in the top 7 percent of students nationwide.
King’s accomplishments have also earned her the prestigious STAR Student designation for the 2024–2025 school year. The honor, bestowed by the Mississippi Economic Council’s Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program, highlights her academic performance and leadership.
In addition to her scholastic success, Angelica most recently served as a student leader on the Mayor’s Youth Council.
