The Adams County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) joined residents of Sibley earlier this month for the first Neighborhood Watch meeting held since the lifting of COVID-19 restriction, and the event was hailed as a great success.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, turnout was “outstanding,” with community members showing strong enthusiasm for renewing efforts to keep their neighborhood safe. The department expressed appreciation for all who attended and contributed to the discussion.
“Neighborhood Watch programs play a vital role in information sharing and relationship building between citizens and law enforcement,” the ACSO noted. “When communities stay engaged and communicate with one another, we can identify concerns early, deter crime, and strengthen trust across Adams County.”
The Sheriff’s Office said it hopes to see additional Neighborhood Watch programs begin in other parts of the county. Those interested in starting a program can contact Karen Ewing, the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, at 601-442-2752.
Residents are also encouraged to stay informed about future meetings and community safety initiatives by visiting www.adamscosheriff.org.
“Together, we can continue making Adams County a safer, stronger place to live,” the Sheriff’s Office concluded.
