From old-school to high-tech!
About 15 percent of the population will have a birthday while we’re all social isolating, myself included. Granted, birthdays aren’t as big a deal when you’re an adult, but it still feels good to have a little bit of a celebration. Birthdays are HUGE for kids, and they’ll remember bad ones forever.
So Good Housekeeping came up with a list of ten birthday ideas for social distancing. Some are simple, some are high-tech, but all of them will help lift our spirits a little and keep us connected.
- Send a card.
- Host a virtual birthday party using Zoom.
- Deliver booze to their doorstep (won’t work in Mississippi unfortunately).
- Host a Netflix Party. Everyone will need the Netflix Party Google Chrome extension.
- Have dessert delivered. Find a highly-rated local bakery near the birthday person.
- Do a group workout at home using Zoom.
- Drive by their house and do something special while they’re home.
- Take a virtual trip to a Museum
- Write or sing them a song. Doesn’t have to be Grammy winning, it’s the thought and effort that counts.
- Host a themed virtual party using Zoom or Facebook Messenger. Costumes, themed cocktails, the sky is the limit.
