Natchez, MS - Natchez is such an important town in America's history.

The Natchez Association for the Preservation of African American Culture (NAPAC) was established in 1990 and later set up a museum in Natchez Mississippi on Main Street to be a collection of information and artifacts that tells the story of African Americans contribution to the community of Natchez since being introduced by the French in 1716.

The original location of the Natchez Museum of African Art and Heritage was located in a building on Market Street in Natchez Mississippi. Around the year 2000, the museum relocated to its current location on 301 Main Street.

“When visiting the Museum, you will be exposed to the elements of this community’s history that has not been fully explored or presented,” said the director of the Natchez Museum of African Art and Heritage Darrell White.

People from all over come to experience the rich history the museum has to offer.

“The Museum was brilliant and fascinating,” said Beth Murphy of Scotland. “Great collection of books and photos.”

Beth Murphy visited the museum along with Tatora Mukushi and Hannah Watson of London England, and Jaclyn Billington of the United Kingdom.
