Natchez, MS — The City of Natchez has a new face on the bench. Mayor Dan Gibson announced on social media that Terrence Hunter has been appointed as the city’s new Municipal Judge.
A Natchez native, Judge Hunter brings local roots and legal experience to the position. Since returning to his hometown in August 2022, he has served the community as a public defender and runs a law practice located on Main Street.
“Please join me in congratulating our new Municipal Judge Terrence Hunter!” Mayor Gibson shared in a Facebook post, applauding the appointment and noting Judge Hunter’s commitment to justice and community service.
Behind Judge Hunter is a strong support system—his wife of three years, Leah Hunter, and their daughter, Harlowe. Leah Hunter has also recently taken on a prominent civic role, named the new Director of the Downtown Natchez Alliance, the city’s official Mississippi Main Street organization focused on revitalization and economic development in the heart of Natchez.
