The Adams County Sheriff’s Office confirmed today that the search for Mrs. Juanita Robinson, missing since August 27, has come to a close after her vehicle was discovered in a wooded area off Liberty Road.
This morning at approximately 8:00 a.m., multiple agencies and volunteers gathered at the Adams County Safe Room to continue the coordinated search effort. Those present included members of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Natchez Police Department, Adams County Search and Rescue, Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Adams County Emergency Management, and family members of Mrs. Robinson. The group began the day with a prayer for her safe recovery.
More than 50 volunteers assisted, with search teams assigned to various quadrants of Adams County. At approximately 10:02 a.m., Sheriff Travis Patten reported observing a disturbed area near a gum tree bush along Liberty Road, about two miles past South Palestine Road. Upon inspection, authorities located an overturned 2011 silver Toyota Corolla confirmed to be Mrs. Robinson’s vehicle. She was found inside.
The Natchez Fire Department and Chop’s Wrecker Service assisted in recovery and extraction. Family members, who were present during the search, confirmed the vehicle belonged to Mrs. Robinson.
Sheriff Patten expressed gratitude to all agencies, volunteers, and family members involved, highlighting the efforts of ACSO Investigators Captain Rustin Cavin and Investigator Alicia Wimley, whose work with camera footage and phone records provided crucial leads. He also thanked Mayor Dan Gibson and the Natchez Police Department for their support in pooling resources for the search.
“On behalf of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, I extend my deepest condolences to Mrs. Robinson’s family and loved ones,” Sheriff Patten said. “We ask the community to continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve and make the necessary arrangements to lay her to rest.”
