In honor and recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Merit Health Natchez is leading the eighth annual community-wide campaign to Paint Natchez Pink on Thursday, October 16, 2025, and we invite you to participate.
You have the power to spread hope and awareness in Natchez on this day. Listen Up Yall Media, along with 18 local businesses are working with Merit Health Natchez to offer you or your business/ organization an opportunity to be a part of helping build community unity throughout the month of October by coming together to bring awareness of the importance of fighting breast cancer in its earliest stages.
Whether you are a home owner, restaurateur, business owner, retail or industry employer, check out these ideas to help turn Natchez Pink throughout the month:
- Decorate your home or store windows with a pink display.
- Hold a “street” contest for Best Pink Window display.
- Insert pink light bulbs in porch lights.
- Hang strands of pink lights.
- Have a pink pumpkin decorating contest at your business.
- Use special scripts to remind customers to get their annual mammograms.
- Use pink chalk to write messages of hope or honor co-workers battling breast cancer.
- Tie pink ribbons around trees in and around your neighborhoods and businesses.
- Salons could offer specials on pink colors/products on this day.
- Restaurants feature pink drinks or food on this day.
- Attend the official reading of the Paint Natchez Pink Proclamation to be held on October 16 on the bluff at 4:30
- Anything else to promote Breast Cancer Awareness at your business, home, organization!
If you or your business would like to become a Pink Participant, it is absolutely FREE to participate. If you become a participant, your business will receive a Pink Participant poster to display.
Mayor Dan Gibson will kick off the festivities at the Band Stand on the Natchez Bluff, which will include refreshments, music provided by Live @ Five, and photo opportunities in our GIANT pink chair! Most importantly, it will be a time to support and honor those in our community who are valiantly fighting breast cancer and those who have conquered their fight. It will also be a time to remember those who lost their battle.
We hope you will consider participating throughout the month and attend the events planned for October 16th. We want our community to see firsthand the commitment and support of not only our hospital, but other local businesses and individuals, for this unique and fun way to create breast cancer awareness.
