The Natchez-Adams School District (NASD) has announced a calendar adjustment as the Natchez High School boys basketball team advances to the semifinal round of the MHSAA State Playoffs.
Due to overwhelming support from staff, students, and the community, there will be no school on Thursday, March 5, 2026. District officials said the decision reflects the strong community pride surrounding the team’s playoff run and allows students, families, and employees the opportunity to show their support.
To ensure instructional time requirements are met, Monday, April 6, 2026, will now be observed as a regular school day for both students and staff.
District leaders praised the accomplishments of the student-athletes and highlighted the unity displayed throughout the postseason.
“NASD remains committed to both academic excellence and the celebration of student success in athletics and extracurricular activities,” the district stated.
