Natchez-Adams County E911 has officially transitioned operations to its new facility, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials are asking residents for patience as E911 dispatchers adjust to the new facility while continuing to provide emergency services to the community. Dispatchers are training and becoming familiar with new equipment and systems while continuing to answer emergency calls.
AT&T is also working to resolve technical issues associated with the transition. E911 personnel and their partners are working to address those issues as quickly as possible while maintaining emergency communication services.
Residents who have an emergency or need a deputy, police officer, firefighter or ambulance should continue to dial 911.
Important Information for Alarm System Customers
Residents and businesses with monitored alarm systems are being asked to contact their alarm companies and provide them with the new Natchez-Adams County E911 telephone number:
601-417-0440
The number should be provided directly to alarm companies as part of the transition to the new E911 facility. The number does not replace 911 for emergencies.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is also encouraging residents to share the updated information with family members, friends, neighbors, businesses and anyone who uses a monitored alarm system.
Officials thanked the public for its patience and cooperation as dispatchers continue working around the clock while becoming accustomed to the new facility, equipment and technology.
