ST. GEORGE, LA – Blue Bayou Water Park, a beloved summertime destination for families in the Baton Rouge area and beyond, will not open its gates for the 2025 season. The announcement, first reported by WBRZ, leaves the future of the popular water park uncertain.
The first signs of change came when the official Facebook page for Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin’ quietly removed references to Blue Bayou from its profile information. In a recent post, the park promoted the May 23 opening of its adjacent amusement park, Dixie Landin’, but made no mention of Blue Bayou’s status or opening plans.
When contacted by WBRZ, a park representative confirmed that Blue Bayou will not be operating this year. However, no specific reasons for the closure were provided, and it remains unclear whether this is a temporary suspension or an indication of a permanent shutdown.
WBRZ has reportedly reached out to park officials for additional information regarding the decision and the long-term plans for Blue Bayou, but no further details have been released as of this publication.
