NATCHEZ, Miss. – Several new national retailers are coming to the Trace Town Shopping Center as part of an ongoing redevelopment project announced Tuesday by city leaders and developers.
During the event, developer Jimmy Smith revealed that the center will include TJ Maxx, Ulta Beauty, Five Below, Shoe Department, and Bed Bath & Beyond, along with additional smaller businesses including a restaurant, a national hair salon, and an ice cream and cookie shop called Flying Dollies.
Smith said the project is already fully leased and construction is expected to begin soon, with an anticipated opening timeframe of early next year or spring 2027.
The announcement follows the recent opening of Hobby Lobby at the site. Smith noted the store has already drawn customers from outside the area, saying customer traffic includes “about fifty percent from Adams County” with the remaining coming from surrounding areas, including Louisiana.
Mayor Dan Gibson called the project a major milestone for the region.
“This marks the beginning of what will be the largest retail development in Southwest Mississippi in over four decades,” Gibson said.
Developers with Noon Real Estate said the project is the result of months of planning and partnership between local and state leaders.
“This is the culmination of probably eighteen months of work to get to this stage,” said Kevin Jennings of Noon Real Estate.
Officials say additional development is being explored for nearby property, including potential grocery and retail options.
