An Natchez man faces a stalking charge after his arrest. The case involves Sim Mosby, who resigned from Silas and Simmons LLP two years ago. According to an accountant at the firm, Mosby repeatedly drove in front of the business. The accountant said Mosby got in his face at a public event and threatened him last year.
The accountant also alleged that Mosby began parking outside the firm for long periods starting in August. The accountant further stated that Mosby flipped him off in traffic last week, then made a U-turn and tailgated him for three to four miles while flashing his headlights. Mosby was arrested Saturday, with bonds set at $250.
Campaign finances are also being monitored as Louisiana’s election cycle continues. The cycle has raised a record $74 million. An external publisher, Jeremy Alford, said 80% of the funds are coming from donors outside Louisiana and that two open house races are helping generate cash. He also cited leadership-related members of Louisiana’s congressional delegation as contributors to outside funding. New campaign finance numbers are expected later this week.

The agency said it is partnering with the National Weather Service to share information about severe weather hazards and preparation steps.
The Louisiana Department of Health is urging residents to carry Narcan in response to cycloraphane. Deputy Health Secretary Dr. Pete Krogan said cycloraphane is a synthetic opioid described as being 10 times more potent than fentanyl, and he said detections are increasing across the country. He urged people to carry Narcan at all times. Krogan said Narcan is available over the counter in most pharmacies and can also be obtained through local parish health units or local governing entities. He added that data suggests Narcan may remain effective for up to 20 years after its expiration date.
