NATCHEZ, Miss. — A new film from Mississippi director Tate Taylor is preparing to shoot in Natchez and the surrounding area, and casting directors are looking for local residents to appear in the production.
Caballero Casting is seeking background actors and stand-ins for “Cupid,” a film directed by Taylor. Filming is scheduled to take place from Oct. 21 through Nov. 23.
“Cupid” follows a couple attempting to repair their struggling marriage during a weekend at the home of a seemingly helpful but unconventional marriage counselor. What begins as an effort to save their relationship takes a darker turn as the counselor’s methods become increasingly cruel and dangerous.
Casting directors are currently seeking men and women of all ages, along with children ages 11 to 14. Background actors will be paid $150 for a 12-hour day, while minors will receive $100, according to the casting notice.
Those interested in applying should email CUPID@caballerocasting.com with the subject line “GENERAL BG.” Submissions should include the applicant’s name, age, contact number, height and weight, and city and state of residence.
Applicants should also include one current headshot and one full-body photograph. The casting notice asks applicants to stand in front of a solid wall and wear a neutral-colored shirt for their photos.
Parents or guardians submitting a minor should also include the name and contact information of the child’s legal guardian.
Filming will take place in Natchez and the surrounding area.
